Okra Seeds

Clemson Spineless Okra Abelmoschus esculentus
Origin: USA
Item #: OKRA001

Clemson Spineless Okra was the All American Selection winning Okra variety for 1939 and is a favorite among home gardeners. Clemson Spineless Okra produces an abundance of dark green, straight, pointed, spineless pods which reach 6 to 9 inches long, but are best harvested at 2-3 inches in length. Due to this okra variety's lack of spines, harvesting is easy! Reaches up to 4 and a half feet tall and matures in only 55 days! Okra is used for soups, pickling and as a cooked vegetable.

Okra is high in Vitamin A and its beautiful flowers (it is related to the Hollyhock) make it an excellent edible landscape plant. Read more >>>

Royal Burgundy Okra (AKA. Red Burgundy Okra) Abelmoschus esculentus
Origin: USA
Item #: OKRA002

Royal Burgundy Okra, sometimes also known as Red Burgundy Okra or Red Okra was the All American Selections winning okra variety for 1988.

Royal Burgundy Okra will make a very colorful addition to your garden due to its stunning purple hued leaves and striking red pods. Though it is not as prolific as other okra varieties, what it loses in productivity, it makes up in beauty.

Cowhorn 22 Okra (aka. Steer Horn Okra) Abelmoschus esculentus
Origin: USA
Item #: OKRA003

Cowhorn Okra, also known as Steer's Horn Okra is a very old Southern variety of Okra that takes its name from the horns of the Texas Longhorn steer.  Though Cowhorn Okra was once rare, it is gradually making a slow comeback.

Cowhorn is a very large Okra variety that grows up to 6 to 7 feet in height and produces a large number of extra large, ribbed medium-green colored pods that reach up to 12 inches in length. The pods have a curved tip and possess a likeness to a cow's horn, hence the name. Though the edible pods grow to such lengths and sizes, they are best when harvested at six inch lengths which is when they are still very tender. For the best results, the plants should actually be topped at four feet in height, unless you don't mind climbing a ladder to harvest them. Read more >>>

Emerald Okra (aka. Velvet Okra)  Abelmoschus esculentus
Origin: USA
Item #: OKRA004

Emerald Okra, also known as Velvet Okra, is a wonderful okra variety that is somewhat similar to Clemson Spineless Okra, but is less prone to becoming as seedy or as tough. The variety was introduced in 1950 by the Campbell's Soup Company of Riverton, New Jersey and was developed by crossbreeding Campbell's Long Green Okra, Clemson Spineless, Louisiana Green and Cow Horn Okra together.

In areas of the South, many Okra fanatics consider Emerald as one of the best okra varieties on the market and many will grow only this variety. Emerald Okra is a very prolific and early producer of smooth round, spineless green pods that reach 7 or 8 inches in length. Read more >>>

Lee Okra Abelmoschus esculentus
Origin: USA
Item #: OKRA005

Lee Okra is a wonderful and very early variety of Okra. It is a semi-dwarf variety, reaching only 2 to 3 feet in height, is typically free of lateral branches. Due to its small size, harvesting is done easily and Lee Okra is the ideal variety of Okra for small gardens. Lee Okra was developed by the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas in 1978 by crossing the varieties Gulfcoast, Emerald, Clemson Spineless and # PI 248999.

Produces an abundance dark green, slightly ridged 6 to 7 inch pods. Read more >>>

The plants reach 3 to 6 feet in height and are best adapted to the Southern United States. Read more >>>

Black Krim Tomato Seeds

This Russian tomato variety is always one of our top selling varieties of vegetable seeds and hails from the Isle of Krim in the Black Sea to the south of the Republic of Ukraine.

Black Tomatoes have been our best selling vegetable seeds for us this year and this one is our best Black Tomatoes! This tomato variety is a medium large sized maroon beefsteak with green shoulders and an intense, unique taste! Ideal for slicing, salads and more. Due to their natural salty taste, sliced Black Krims do not require salting and only a hint of pepper, which makes them an ideal tomato variety for your tomato patch if you can not have salt in your diet.  Indeterminate. 70-75 days to maturity.
