The Dixielee Watermelon is a wonderful icebox watermelon that was introduced in 1979 by the Agricultural Research Center of the University of Florida. Presumeably, this wonderful watermelon was developed by crossing together the following varieties: Texas W5, Fusarium Wilt Resistant Peacock, Fairfax, Summit and Graybelle. Dixielee Watermelons produce a round fruit with distinct stripes like the variety Jubilee that weigh in the neighborhood of 20 pounds. Dixielee Watermelons possess a very dark, very firm red flesh with black seeds and possesses an exceptional flavor. Among all Watermelon varieties, it is one of the best tasting.

Resistant to Fusarium Wilt and Anthracnose.
