Sweet Meat Winter Squash Origin: United States Item #: SQUASH009 The Sweet Meat Squash is an old variety of winter squash that was originally introduced by Gill Brothers Seed Company of Portland, here in Oregon. Sweet Meat produces an abundance of 10 to 15 pound slate green colored squash with a deep orange colored, thick flesh. The meat has a very fine dry quality, is finely grained and excells in flavor, with a slight buttery taste. Due to its tender texture, it can make a good substitute for summer squash in the winter months.
