Georgia Collard
Origin: United States

Introduced in 1880, Georgia Green Collards are a traditional southern variety of non-heading cabbage also known as Southern Collards or Creole Collards. This variety of collards grows up to 2 to 3 feet in height and produces large, wavy blue-green colored cabbage like leaves. This variety is very popular in the American South where they are used to make traditional old fashioned Southern Greens and are increasing in popularity in other regions. Georgia Collards are both heat and cold tolerant and are also slow to bolt, so they are suited for just about any climate. A light frost, like with kale, will actually improve their flavor. They will also excel in even very poor soil. In the last few years, even our many customers in the United Kingdom who had not previously known Collards are coming to appreciate them deeply.

Collards are grown for their succulent leaves which have a slight cabbage flavor. Primarily used for Southern Greens recipes, but also useful in soups or any recipe that calls for cabbage.

Georgia Collards are an absolute necessity in any Southern garden!

Matures in 70 to 80 days.

Vate's Collards are both frost and heat resistant, is bolt and frost resistant and is even suited for northern climates. Ideal for spring and summer gardening.

Matures in 75 days.

Black Krim Tomato Seeds

This Russian tomato variety is always one of our top selling varieties of vegetable seeds and hails from the Isle of Krim in the Black Sea to the south of the Republic of Ukraine.

Black Tomatoes have been our best selling vegetable seeds for us this year and this one is our best Black Tomatoes! This tomato variety is a medium large sized maroon beefsteak with green shoulders and an intense, unique taste! Ideal for slicing, salads and more. Due to their natural salty taste, sliced Black Krims do not require salting and only a hint of pepper, which makes them an ideal tomato variety for your tomato patch if you can not have salt in your diet.  Indeterminate. 70-75 days to maturity.
